Woody Guthrie’s fine song about the death and exploitation of migrant workers seems sadly ever relevant. This new version by Phil was freshly recorded this year and features Bobby Valentino on fiddle and Paul on mandolin.

“In September 2012 I was invited by the London Labour Film Festival to come along and play a set of Woody Guthrie songs alongside the screening of the Woody Guthrie biopic ‘Bound for Glory’. The event also included Q&A sessions from the likes of Ken Loach and Mike Leigh. Needless to say I jumped at the chance and I even had the chance to talk about my favourite films with Ken and Mike in the bar afterwards. Bobby Valentino also joined me on stage so I thought it was appropriate to record one of those songs for this album...”
