I had a friend named Ramblin' Bob Who used to steal gamble and rob He thought he was the smartest guy in town But I found out last Monday That Bob got locked up Sunday They've got him in the jailhouse way down town He's in the jailhouse now he's in the jailhouse now I told him once or twice to stop playin' cards and shootin' dice He's in the jailhouse now He played a game called poker pinoccle with Dan Yoker But shooting dice was his greatest game Now he's downtown in jail nobody to go his bail The judge done said that he refused a fine He's in the jailhouse now he's in the jailhouse now I told him once or twice to stop playin' cards and shootin' dice He's in the jailhouse now I went out last Tuesday met a gal named Susie Said I was the swellest guy around We started spending my money Then she started calling me honey We took in every cabaret in town We're in the jailhouse now We're in the jailhouse now I told that judge right to his face You'know I don't like this place We're in the jailhouse now

about

Also available on CD!

The Men They Couldn't Hang's music always sprang from a sense of what should be. They have a perma presence, an intangible essence, an understanding that goes beyond Poguetry. Swill is one half of the pulse that makes them beat still. Proper name, Phil Odgers, this is his first solo excursion into roots. Released in 2004 'The Day After' was a welcome and very well received debut album. Recorded in a lively 'Low-Fi' evironment, this album takes the listener on one heck of a ride. Hold tight everyone!!
